In summary, the welcome panel gives you one-click access to some of the most important areas of the wp-admin. After logging in, the panel will no longer be visible once you click the Dismiss option. The panel currently lets you do the following things. Customize the current theme, but only if the theme provides some customization features (not all themes do) . Change the current theme to a new one, Edit the front page Create new pages, Write your first blog post , View your site, Manage menus and widgets, and Turn comments on or off.
